This is the 6th year now that we as a community are acknowledging those people who consistently go above and beyond in their efforts to make Elbow the great place it is. This year we had 3 individuals that were nominated by the community – ALL of them very deserving.
Voting took place from October 6 – 12th, and later that evening at the Annual Ratepayers Meeting, Mayor Rob Hundeby presented Anne Wilson with the 2016 Citizen of the Year Award.
Taken from Anne's nomination:
Anne almost single handedly organized and put together Culture Days. She recruited the necessary helpers and participants to make it all happen.
She contributes to all museum functions and fundraisers to keep our museum open.
She also contributes to other community ventures throughout the year, not only museum events.
She is a good spokesperson for Elbow.
Congratulations Anne!
