Open Fire Burn Ban

Thursday, August 09, 2018

Due to extreme fire hazards, the Council of the Village of Elbow has issued restrictions on open fires within the boundaries of the Village of Elbow AND the Tuft’s Bay leased area (both sides).  ALL OPEN FIRES ARE PROHIBITED.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, no fireworks or open fires, including fire pits, fire rings, chimineas, and the like are allowed until further notice.  Self-contained, CSA-approved portable gas fire pits, barbeques, pressurized stoves and charcoal briquettes will be permitted at this time.

Contravention of this ban will result in fines, in accordance with the Village of Elbow’s General Penalty Bylaw.  Please be advised that in the event that the Fire Department is called to attend a fire as a result of burning during the ban, the fire response fees will be billed directly to the owner or lessee of the property.  The bill for such will not be covered by the Village of Elbow.

Thank you for your cooperation.
