Mail-in Ballots for Municipal Election

Tuesday, September 22, 2020

Did you know?

The Village of Elbow has had a municipal election mail-in ballot system since 2012.

With the upcoming municipal election, this option is ideal for those who might be away for either the advance poll (scheduled for October 30th), or election day (November 9th).  This might also be of interest to anyone who may be immune compromised, or anyone who may not wish to vote in person at the polls.  If any of these scenarios relate to you, we would like to encourage you to get registered for a mail-in ballot.

Contact the Village Office and we can mail or email the registration forms out to you; or stop by the Office Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays to register in person or pick the forms up.  Registration forms may be witnessed by Claudia or myself, a Commissioner for Oaths, or a Notary Public.  Remember to bring your ID!  Forms must be submitted in person or by mail by October 9th; so don’t delay!

After nomination day, and once the ballots are printed, a packet will be mailed to you with all the instructions you need to complete your ballot and return it to the Village in time to be counted at the November 9, 2020 municipal election.

To be eligible to vote in the municipal election you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen;
  • Be at least 18 years of age as of the election day;
  • Have not already voted at this election;
  • Have resided or owned land in the Village of Elbow for at least three consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election; and
  • Have resided in Saskatchewan for at least six consecutive months immediately preceding the election.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call or email the Village Office.

Yvonne Jess, Returning Officer
