Saskatchewan school tax to be held at current level

Premier Brad Wall announced Wednesday that educational mill rates will be dropped to compensate for the assessment increases (2013 revaluation), and overall taxes won't go up.  Some property owners will pay more taxes and some will pay less, depending on how their own individual assessments fared, but overall the effect will be revenue neutral, he said.  The province has however, taken away the discount incentive for early payment of school taxes (5% in Elbow).  To read the story, click HERE
