Canada Day in Elbow!

Wednesday, July 02, 2014

Once again Elbow was a hub of activities for Canada Day!  The day started out with a pancake breakfast put on by the Elbow & District Museum at the rink.  There were activities throughout the day with the ArchaeoCaravan at the Civic Centre and Museum.  The Elbow & District Wildlife put on their annual Fish Fry supper at the rink, serving approximately 475 people.  A special Canada Day Bingo took place at the Civic Centre in the evening, which was followed up with the traditional fireworks display at dusk.

With the assistance of neighbouring municipalities, local businesses and citizen donations, and the Canadian Heritage Celebrate Canada grant, Elbow is able to put on this fantastic Canada Day fireworks display.  Thank you all for your much appreciated contributions!

Special thanks go out to our pyrotechnician Dale Norrish and his crew of helpers:   Jason Norrish, Chase Norrish, Brady Norrish, Darren Norrish, and Vic Dutkiewicz.
