This is the 4th year now that we as a community are acknowledging those people who consistently go above and beyond in their efforts to make Elbow the great place it is.  This year we had 2 individuals that were nominated – both of them very deserving.

Voting took place from October 15 – 20th, and later that evening at the Annual Ratepayers Meeting, Mayor Rob Hundeby presented Sylvia Harms with the 2014 Citizen of the Year Award.

Sylvia contributes to our community by being an active member of the Museum Board, the treasurer for the Library Board & Lakeview Friendship Club, and is a tireless volunteer at the Community Orchard, being involved since its inception in 1995.  She donates many hours of her time helping out at the library and organizing the two Hobby & Craft fundraiser shows each year.  She is also active in the community choir and quilting group.  She is a happy, pleasant, and supportive member of our community.
